Minimum Qualifications In order to be considered for permanent appointment, candidates must be reachable on a current Civil Service eligible list, or be eligible for reassignment or transfer in accordance with Civil Service Law.
Duties Description As an Office Assistant 2, you may supervise Office Assistants 1 or other lower-level staff; and/or directly perform the more difficult or complicated clerical processing and office support work for which substantive knowledge of the program area is required. As an Office Assistant 2, you will answer questions from and provide information to various parties regarding program activities, handle sensitive applications, requests, or inquiries in which management or executive staff may be contacted or interested, transactions, and procedures; refer inquiries as necessary; operate various communication systems such as telephones and computers and keep records of such communications; operate basic office machines and equipment; schedule appointments and meetings using various office tools; and perform routine processing activities, including checking forms for completeness and accuracy. Manage Regional Fleet daily activities; Issue vehicles and maintain recordkeeping and logs related to vehicles. Create Forms and update changes. Handle vehicles’ violations. Schedule maintenance and assign parking spots. This role may also include assisting in the management of the Construction TCI program and updating the SharePoint software, for seasonal field inspectors.
Responsibilities may include serving a role within the Incident Command System to support the department’s response to regional and statewide emergency situations.
