Minimum Qualifications One year of permanent competitive services as an Information Technology Specialist 3 OR in a position at G-21 or higher deemed administrative under Section 52.6 of Civil Service Law OR in a title eligible for transfer under Section 70.1 of Civil Service Law. The transfer cannot be a second consecutive transfer resulting in advancement of more than two salary grades. Candidates reachable on the eligible list for this title will be canvassed and do not need to apply.

Duties Description The Information Technology Specialist 3 (G23) will be a member of the Delivery Services Group, which is responsible for customer and desktop support, inventory tracking, training, and the coordination of enterprise-wide software and hardware initiatives. Travel to OAG offices throughout the state may be required at times.

DUTIES:
• Lead the design and implementation of an asset management system solution to track and manage all IT inventory across NYS.
• Manage and coordinate asset information by conducting regular site visits, updating current inventory status as needed and identifying areas for improvement.
• Perform all phases of the IT asset management lifecycle, from asset request to retirement and disposal.
• Maintain product information regarding licenses, warranties and service agreements and coordinate renewals with management when necessary.
• Research industry best practices and incorporate with organizational practices.
• Propose asset performance opportunities as presented by team members and Service Center ticketing system.
• Create purchase requisitions.
• Support of Microsoft Office Suite products, including but not limited to Office 365
• Manage the content within the ServiceNow knowledge base.
• Improve use of the ServiceNow knowledge portal through regular updates and feedback review.
• Create standards and best practices for the management of ServiceNow knowledge articles.
• Regularly prepare and analyze ServiceNow dashboard reports on article usage and user feedback.
• Coordinate and provide desktop and hardware support for users across the state.
• Coordinate and conduct device and system testing and troubleshoot as needed.
• Assist with developing the agency’s documentation and training programs used in support of new product rollouts.
• Provide hands-on support for the delivery of new agency systems and services.
• Other duties as assigned.

• Strong organizational skills
• Supervisory experience
• Demonstrated problem-solving and analytical skills
• Experience working with end users, including requirements gathering and customer support.
• Ability to work effectively with employees at all levels within the organization.
• Excellent attention to detail
• Experience with a ticketing system such as ServiceNow
• The ability to react quickly to shifting priorities
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Technical writing and communication experience
• Experience working on and supporting enterprise systems.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision
