Duties Description This full-time Temporary Assistance Specialist 1 position is located in the Harlem/Metro office of Employment and Income Support Programs (EISP).

Duties will include, but are not limited to, the following:
• Conducting Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) and Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) Management Evaluation Reviews as required by federal and state regulations;

• Writing TANF Reports detailing findings, actions taken and required Corrective Action;

• Writing SNAP Management Evaluation Review reports detailing findings, actions, taken and Corrective Action Plans;

• Handling telephone complaints from clients, advocates, and other entities;

• Handling written inquiries and complaints from clients, advocates, the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA), etc. for New York City clients; and

• Providing assistance as needed with disaster initiatives.

Additional Comments Appointment to this position is contingent upon Division of the Budget approval to fill. A full-time, permanent or contingent permanent appointment will be made. If certified by Civil Service, mandatory reemployment list candidates must be considered first for appointment to this title.

Salary for Trainee 1 is $42,986.

This position includes $3026 location pay.
