Minimum Qualifications A Bachelor's degree and one year of experience which included full responsibility for the overall administration of an institution or organization's volunteer service program. These programs must have involved 25 or more registered volunteers per month on a continuing basis; or an Associate's degree and three years of the experience described above; or five years of the experience described above.
Duties Description As a Supervisor Correctional Facility Volunteer Services, under the general direction of a facility Deputy Superintendent for Program Services and Regional Coordinator of Volunteer Services, you would work with the executive teams and department staff of facility within a given area in order to coordinate the management of the Volunteer Services program. Responsibilities would include recruitment, screening and orientation of volunteers; increasing the use of volunteers in the supplementing facility programs; working with area public and volunteer groups and organizations; encouraging involvement of minorities, inmates, parolees, and formerly incarcerated persons as volunteers; promoting community involvement in special events at facilities; reporting on volunteer activities; and acting as a liaison with community groups, organizations, and civic leaders. Extensive travel will be required.
