Minimum Qualifications A. Education
A master’s degree in a mental hygiene discipline (occupational therapy, physical therapy, social work, psychology, recreation therapy, rehabilitation counseling, education, and nursing), hospital/health administration, or other administrative area specifically related to health care, sociology, statistics, or quantitative research, or a license to practice medicine in NYS or Canada.
Seven (7) years of experience in a mental health program or health care setting that includes four (4) years of managerial experience in at least three (3) quality management component areas such as program evaluation, clinical risk management, standards compliance, survey readiness, utilization review, or a closely related area.
Managerial experience in only two (2) of the quality management component areas noted above requires an additional year of such experience; managerial experience in only one (1) of the quality management component areas noted above requires an additional two (2) years of such experience.
A license to practice medicine or a doctoral degree may substitute for one (1) year of the general experience.
Additionally, all candidates must be eligible to participate in Federal health care programs (e.g., Medicaid). Individuals excluded from participation in these programs will not be considered.
Duties Description Under the general direction of the Executive Director and in close collaboration with other facility cabinet level staff, the Deputy Director, Psychiatric Center 2 – Quality Management participates in the development, implementation, interpretation, and evaluation of facility goals and policies to support quality care and clinical treatment by focusing on such areas as outcome measurements, treatment plans, and cultural and linguistic competence standards. The DDPC 2 - Quality Management is responsible for the oversight of the facility’s overall Quality Management Program, which includes program evaluation, incident review, risk management, utilization review, consumer satisfaction, survey readiness, medical records administration, discipline standards, professional growth and development, standards compliance, cultural competence, and performance improvement. The DDPC 2 - Quality Management is expected to demonstrate effective leadership through the supervision of direct reports and the ability to develop and foster collaboration within the Quality Management Program as well as between facility programs at different levels of care to ensure an integrated approach to the provision of quality services.
Additional Comments Salary: $132,528 - $166,696; Plus $3,026 Location Pay
Kingsboro Psychiatric Center (KPC), a Joint Commission (TJC) accredited mental health facility located on a historic campus in Brooklyn, New York, is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Deputy Director, Psychiatric Center 2 – Quality Management (DDPC 2 - Quality Management) to join our leadership team. KPC provides comprehensive, integrated services 24 hours per day for hospitalized patients and operates three Transitional Living Residences; an 80-bed Family Care Program with certified homes in the community; a satellite clinic on campus; and two community-based outpatient clinics located in the Canarsie and Williamsburg neighborhoods that provide assessment and treatment planning; health screening and referrals; discharge planning; verbal therapies; medication therapy; medication education; symptoms management; psychiatric rehabilitation readiness determination; case management; crisis management; clinical support; mobile outreach; and family support services.
