Minimum Qualifications Senior Accountant, Grade 18:

Eligible for lateral transfer or eligible for 70.1 transfer by having one year of permanent competitive service in an appropriate title.

OR

Accountant Trainee 1, NS:

Eligible for lateral transfer or eligible for 70.1 transfer by having one year of permanent competitive service in one of the following titles.

If qualifying for either the Senior Accountant or Accountant Trainee 1 based upon service in one of the transferable titles included in the attached links, with a code “SPL,” you must submit a list of qualifying coursework with your application that shows you have 24 semester credit hours in accounting, auditing, or taxation. You must provide the course name, the number of semester credit hours received, and the name of the accredited college or university attended. Although you may have received credit for courses such as business law, economics, statistics, or finance as part of your accounting curriculum, these courses cannot be counted toward the required 24 semester credit hours. You may also provide college transcripts. Include separate undergraduate and graduate transcripts for each college attended. If contacted for an interview, you will be required to provide a copy of your college transcript(s) in order to verify statements made in your resume. Official or unofficial copies will be accepted.

NOTE: Candidates who are currently reachable on an appropriate eligible list for the Sr. Accountant or the PCO in Albany need not submit an application for this posting unless they are applying directly as a result of the transfer qualifications listed above.

Duties Description This position is assigned in the Revenue and Reporting Unit within the Bureau of Financial Services. The incumbent will be the Cost Allocation subject matter expert and will serve as the liaison between the Office of Temporary and Disabilisy Assistance, other state agencies, and internal and external auditors for all cost allocation questions and reviews. Tasks will include:

• Work with staff from the Office of Information Technology Services and the Office of Children and Family Services to develop and maintain methodologies to allocate IT costs to the appropriate Federal and State agency programs;

• Review current cost allocation plans and recommend enhancements where necessary;

• Review agency staffing or operational changes and update or create cost allocation plans as required;

• Review accounting transactions to ensure that costs are assigned to the appropriate allocation pools.

Additional Comments A full-time, permanent appointment will be made. If certified by Civil Service, mandatory reemployment list candidates must be considered first for appointment to this title.

Salary for Trainee 1 is $45,555.
