Minimum Qualifications Candidates must have a minimum of one year of experience in environmental education programs; or one year of college study with specialization in natural sciences, natural resources, or environmental education.
Duties Description Assist the Division's Forest Preserve & Conservation Easement Bureau in promoting the Adventure NY initiative by providing visitors of the Adirondack and Catskill parks with information on outdoor recreational opportunities in the forest preserve; assist individuals with disabilities in obtaining the necessary access permits to visit the parks; inventory, catalog and maintain accurate information on regional trail registers for the Adirondack and Catskill parks to assist in addressing overuse issues in the forest preserve; process Temporary Revocable Permits (TRPs) for the Adirondack and Catskill parks; monitor shared mailboxes and provide requested information and answers to questions; and assist with special projects as assigned.
Additional Comments This position is funded through 3/31/19, with a possibility of continuing after that date. Actual work schedule and hours may vary and will be discussed at the interview.
