Salary RangeFrom $50547 to $61229 Annually
Minimum Qualifications Permanent service in this title, or one year of permanent competitive or 55 b/c service in a title SG-13 or higher and otherwise eligible for transfer under Civil Service Law. Candidates on the eligible list will be considered, and need not apply to this posting.
Duties Description The Secretary 2 will be assigned to the Commission’s Support Operations Unit and will be responsible for performing a full range of secretarial and administrative services in support of the agency and Director of Operations. Duties will include, but are not limited to, monitoring and tracking assignments, correspondence, work projects and reports for field operations, specialized secure detention facilities, Freedom of Information (FOIL) requests, and Raise the Age related tasks and following up as necessary; tracking incoming and outgoing correspondence; answering and screening phone calls; maintaining hard copy and electronic files; sending, receiving and tracking pre-facility evaluation surveys; gathering and preparing information for monthly Commission meetings and taking meeting minutes; managing and updating information in the Statewide Financial System (SFS) including purchases and travel expense reports; and providing support to Counsel’s Office.
The Secretary 2 also prepares reports for the Juvenile Justice Inspectional Program; drafts responses for review by the Director; and proofreads and disseminates correspondence such as the Commission Annual Report, Minimum Standard revisions, and quarterly classification reports. The Secretary 2 works with a high level of independence and maintains confidentiality as needed.
