Minimum Qualifications To be considered for permanent appointment, candidates must be reachable on the current Civil Service eligible list or be eligible for reassignment or transfer in accordance with Civil Service Law.

This position requires a valid New York State Professional Engineer's license with current registration.

Duties Description Under the supervision of the Transportation Maintenance Engineer, the incumbent will provide engineering assistance to the Resident Engineer. The responsibilities may include the development of maintenance projects for incorporation into the Capitol Program, development of the Residency Pavement Management Plan, review of transportation projects for maintenance issues, oversight of maintenance work done by contract, investigation of claims, and work with Residency staffs to determine work needs and plans.

Responsibilities may include serving a role within the Incident Command System to support the department’s response to regional and statewide emergency situations.
