70.1 TRANSFER QUALIFICATIONS:

NOTE: A comprehensive list of titles approved for transfer to Senior Auditor, Auditor Trainee 1 and Auditor Trainee 2 is available through Civil Service GOT-IT available at https://careermobilityoffice.cs.ny.gov/cmo/gotit/ . The GOT-IT site will inform you if your title requires special qualifications for 70.1 transfer as detailed below.

Auditor Trainee 1 - One-year of permanent, contingent-permanent, or 55 b/c service in title allocated to a Grade 12 or higher determined to be similar by Civil Service. *

Auditor Trainee 2 - One-year of permanent, contingent-permanent, or 55 b/c service in title allocated to a Grade 14 or higher determined to be similar by Civil Service. *

*Certain titles may require that you also meet the following additional special qualifications:

Bachelor's or higher degree in Accounting, Auditing, or Taxation;
OR
Bachelor's or higher degree with 24 semester credit hours in accounting, auditing, or taxation courses. Note that courses such as business law, economics, statistics, and most finance courses, although taken as part of an accounting curriculum, cannot be counted toward the 24 semester credit hours.
Senior Auditor - One-year of permanent, contingent-permanent, or 55 b/c service in title allocated to a Grade 16 or higher determined to be similar by Civil Service. **

**Certain titles may require that you also meet the following additional special qualifications:

Bachelor's or higher degree in Accounting, Auditing, or Taxation; and two years full-time professional experience*;
OR
Bachelor's or higher degree with 24 semester credit hours in accounting, auditing, or taxation courses. Note that courses such as business law, economics, statistics, and most finance courses, although taken as part of an accounting curriculum, cannot be counted toward the 24 semester credit hours and two years full-time professional experience*;
OR
Master's or higher degree in Accounting, Auditing, or Taxation and one year full-time professional experience*;
OR
a currently valid Certified Public Accountant license and registration issued by New York State.
* Professional experience must have been in accounting/auditing or financial internal or field auditing, responsible for the full range of activities in the design and/or review, analysis and management of accounting systems, resulting in the preparation of, or recommendations on, financial statements in accord with generally accepted accounting principles.
Not considered qualifying are activities restricted to teaching, bookkeeping, maintaining/auditing payroll records or accounts receivable/accounts payable, or preparing tax returns.

70.4 TRANSFER QUALIFICATIONS:

You may be eligible for Section 70.4 transfer if you have: (1) one year of permanent competitive service as a grade 12 or higher; and (2) a bachelor’s degree, including or supplemented by 24 semester credit hours in accounting, auditing, and/or taxation coursework; and (3) passed the Professional Career Opportunities (PCO) exam.

NOTE: 70.4 candidates must NOT have failed the most recent PCO exam.

Duties Description STANDARD DUTIES:

As a Senior Auditor in the Division of Employment and Workforce Solutions, you would perform field reviews of state and federally funded employment and training programs. Duties include but are not limited to: review of contracts; budgets and monthly financial reports; preparing reports and related correspondence, and providing technical assistance. This is a field position and travel is expected.

Position specific job duties may include occasional altered work schedule or job assignments which require availability and willingness to work occasional evening and/or out-stationed assignments.

Travel Requirements: 50% travel with 25% overnight travel
