Minimum Qualifications Interested candidates must be currently reachable on the Information Technology Specialist 2, SG-18 eligible list or eligible to transfer under Section 52.6 of the Civil Service Law.
52.6 Transfer
To be eligible to transfer, interested candidates must have at least one-year permanent competitive service in a 52.6 qualifying title allocated to salary grade 16 or higher.
Duties Description * Research, install and configure Commercial (COTS) Application software that runs on Windows servers as requested by OSC Business Units.
* Monitor COTS Application software and Windows servers’ performance. Work with other CIO units and Business units to resolve technical and functional issues. Work with Application owners and Business Units to schedule and test upgrades.
* Setup, configure, and troubleshoot Windows Server Scheduled Tasks, Application Services (such as IIS) and Windows Components.
* Assist with the installation of security patches to remove vulnerabilities identified by the ISO.
* Handle Service Now incidences as needed.
* Create documentation and procedures for new and existing processes.
* Modify existing documentation as needed.
* Provide on-call support for nightly ERP Admin batch process on a regular schedule.
* Monitor the OBIEE environment to ensure the system is available and working properly. Work with other CIO units and Business units to resolve technical and functional issues.
* Review scheduled scripts to ensure they completed successfully.
* Review errors and logs and research remedies.
* Use various tools to monitor how the system is running (DMS Metrics, Presentation Services Performance Monitor).
* Monitor log files and purge as necessary.
* Assist with the installation of Oracle/OBIEE patches as necessary. Work to resolve any issues caused by the patches.
* Create Users, Groups, Roles and Policies.
* Deploy the Oracle BI Repository (RPD) file as requested by the OBIEE development team. Work with the development team to resolve issues.
Additional Comments Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
* Demonstrated experience utilizing System Management and Event Management software tools (3 months to less than 1 year).
* Demonstrated experience installing and configuring server software (3 months to less than 1 year).
* Demonstrated experience diagnosing and resolving server hardware/software problems (3 months to less than 1 year).
* Demonstrated experience monitoring, evaluating, and diagnosing server performance and capacity issues (3 months to less than 1 year).
* Demonstrated experience developing installation instructions (3 months to less than 1 year).
* Demonstrated experience UNIX/Linux/AIX and variations (3 months to less than 1 year).
* Demonstrated experience with IIS (Internet Information Services) (3 months to less than 1 year).
* Strong verbal and written communication skills.
* Ability to quickly master new information technology concepts using a variety of methods such as on-the-job learning, research and formal training.
* Demonstrated initiative, independence, confidentiality, planning and organizational skills.
