Minimum Qualifications Permanent service in this title or one year of permanent service in a title SG-6 and otherwise eligible for reassignment or transfer. Candidates who have not already passed a keyboarding performance test will be required to do so if selected. Candidates eligible for 55-b/c appointment are also encouraged to apply.
Duties Description The Office Assistant (Keyboarding) is assigned to the Board of Examiners of Sex Offenders (BESO) and is responsible for the following tasks which are essential to the timely processing of risk level recommendations for sex offenders, registration determinations and updated recommendations in response to petitions for risk level modifications: entering data case information into the BESO database; reviewing all work to ensure compliance with office procedures including, but not limited to, layout, spelling, punctuation and grammar; discussing problems with originator to provide possible solution; creating and maintaining Board case files for all Department of Corrections and Community Supervision cases; opening mail and distributing correspondence; typing and printing folder labels for all cases, preparing and mailing inmate letters/envelopes, and assigning, logging and distributing cases to the Board members. In addition, the incumbent will operate computer, scanner, fax, and copy machines; establish and maintain a training log to track training for the Board members as they complete training;
assist the Board with trainings which includes assisting with registration, preparing handout materials and other logistical arrangements. The Office Assistant 1 (Keyboarding) provides general secretarial support and performs other duties as assigned.
