Minimum Qualifications MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Eight years of experience in which 50% or more of the duties performed are project management activities for small to medium scale information technology projects. At least two years of this experience must have been in the management of scheduling or human resources related information technology projects. A bachelor’s degree or a master’s degree may be substituted for four and six years of experience respectively.
Duties Description POSITION DESCRIPTION:
The Office for People with Developmental Disabilities (OPWDD) is seeking a Project Coordinator to oversee and manage the development and deployment of a workforce scheduling software system supporting 15,000 direct care and clinical staff engaged in providing services to individuals with developmental disabilities on a 24/7 basis at over 1,500 locations statewide. Under the general direction of the Deputy Commissioner for Administration, and in close collaboration with the Division of State Operations stakeholders, the Office of Information Technology Services (ITS); and the selected vendor, the incumbent will serve as the primary representative and agency project manager for the workforce scheduling system software project.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
• Assemble and manage the internal project team and lead the Steering Committee
• Develop agency project documents in collaboration with subject matter experts;
• Assist in the development and monitoring of a detailed project schedule in collaboration with ITS;
• Partner with the vendor, working through project status meetings and working to identify risks or concerns, as needed;
• Secure access to additional internal and user staff as needed to support specific areas of expertise, not represented by the project team;
• Monitor risks, project progress, and other project related issues and communicates any concerns to agency management;
• Update project team about any additional organizational initiatives that could impact or delay project implementation;
• Ensure internal business procedures are documented and users are trained during project development and implementation;
• Analyze and reviews project phases, and project documents to ensure project is closed-out in compliance with the project requirements and vendor/ITS obligations.
