Minimum Qualifications Interested candidates must currently be reachable on the Information Technology Specialist 3, SG-23, Civil Service eligible list OR be eligible to transfer under Section 52.6 of the Civil Service Law.

52.6 Transfer

Candidates must have one year of permanent competitive service in a qualifying title allocated to a salary grade 21 or higher.

Duties Description • Implement proper database design, backup processes and index reorganization.
• Perform Oracle upgrades, implement patches.
• Troubleshoot issues to ensure timely resolution for customers.
• Prioritize assignments to ensure timelines are met.
• Prepare and review of complex technical requirements to ensure requirements will be fully met.
• Attend meetings related to IT and/or user requirements.
• Perform research to assist in the success of IT projects.
• Create and review software and procedural documentation.

Additional Comments Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Demonstrated experience in Oracle Database Administration (1 year to less than 2 years).
• Demonstrated experience in upgrading and patching of Oracle databases.
• Demonstrated experience troubleshooting and performance tuning of Oracle databases and applications.
• Demonstrated experience tuning using explain plan, SQL trace, AWR, ADDM, SGA tuning and tuning initialization parameters.
• Demonstrated experience in the facilitation of discussions with all levels of staff within the user community.
