Minimum Qualifications Interested candidates must currently be reachable on the Information Technology Specialist 2(Programming), SG-18 list, OR be eligible to transfer under Section 52.6 of the Civil Service Law.
52.6 Transfer:
Candidates must have one year of permanent, competitive service in a qualifying title allocated to salary grade 16 or higher.
Duties Description - Collaborate with business analysts and users to gather and refine requirements and functional design
- Analyze functional requirements, and develop technical requirements
- Create design documents and other related system documentation
- With guidance from senior developers and architects, develop final design
- With guidance from senior developers and architects, code and debug CMS software following defined specifications and standards
- Conduct technical walkthroughs of proposed system changes
- Unit test code, following defined testing methodology
- Conduct unit testing and debugging of all code changes in a development environment
- Conduct code reviews as assigned and recommend changes.
- Perform Quality Assurance testing of code changes as assigned
- With guidance from senior developers and architects, create and maintain system documentation
- Assist senior developers and architects in the post-production review of the CMS for effectiveness, accomplishment of stated goals, and compliance with existing controls and standards
- Assist senior developers and architects in tasks related to maintaining the CMS.
- Provide off hours support as required.
Additional Comments KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
o Demonstrated experience with Computer Programming (3 months to less than one year)
o Demonstrated experience with Data Modeling and Database Design (3 months to less than one year)
o Demonstrated experience with Web Development, Design and Maintenance (3 months to less than one year)
o Demonstrated competency with DHTML/HTML/XHTML (3 months to less than one year)
o Demonstrated competency with JavaScript (3 months to less than one year)
o Demonstrated competency with SQL (3 months to less than one year)
o Demonstrated competency with XML (3 months to less than one year)
o Demonstrated experience with HTML5, CSS, Bootstrap, PHP, Twig, MySQL and JQuery
o Demonstrated experience with a content management system platform, Drupal 8
o Demonstrated experience with command line tools, Drush and Composer
o Demonstrated experience with Git-based workflows
o Demonstrated strong debugging, coding and problem-solving skills
o Demonstrated ability to code ADA compliant web pages
o Demonstrated experience with SEO, Google Analytics and responsive web design
