Minimum Qualifications Permanent status as an Addictions Program Specialist 2, G-23 and interested in reassignment or reachable for permanent appointment on the current Civil Service eligible list for Addictions Program Specialist 2, G-23; or eligible for transfer under Section 70.1 of the Civil Service Law (i.e., Addictions Planning Analyst 2, Senior Vocational Rehabilitation Counselor).
Duties Description The incumbent will perform the following duties:
1. Manages the Education & Training Provider (ETP) Certification Process.
a. Tracking and assigning all ETP applications for review
b. Review of ETP Applications
c. Site Visits with new providers
d. Oversite of complaints against ETPS
e. Management of the ETP database to ensure information is accurate
f. Visits 350-Hour Credentialed Alcoholism and Substance Abuse Counselor (CASAC) programs to discuss the Credentialing and ETP processes.
2. Oversees the OASAS On-Line Training Catalog.
a. Addition of ETP users
b. Correcting information entered by providers
3. Oversees the Training Unit Mailbox.
4. Responsible for management of training contracts and RFPs related to the CASAC/CPP/CPS and Gambling Specialty designation funding.
5. Develops and maintains applications and other written materials and correspondence.
6. Oversees the Training and Workforce webpages.
7. Carries out special assignments as specified by the Unit Manager and Bureau Director.
8. Works collaboratively to integrate the use of an electronic Learning Management System into Unit and Credentialing functions.
9. Participates in interagency workforce initiatives (i.e. NYS DOL, SUNY) as needed.
a. E-mailing providers about available scholarships or other workforce opportunities
b. Convenes meetings regarding funding opportunities for the CASAC/CPP/CPS/Gambling Specialty Designation.
10. Review and update OASAS credentialing curricula to ensure they are in line with the International Certification & Reciprocity Consortium (IC&RC) guidelines and requirements.
11. Provide technical assistance to Education and Training Providers.
12. Other duties as assigned.
