Duties Description The Office for People with Developmental Disabilities (OPWDD) provides high-quality, person centered services, supports and advocacy to approximately 120,000+ individuals with developmental disabilities in New York State. We are guided in our interactions with the people we serve and each other by compassion, dignity, diversity, excellence and honesty.

The Office of Human Resources represents the Office for People with Developmental Disabilities (OPWDD) on all matters related to human resource management. Staff works closely with senior managers and leadership within OPWDD and with the Department of Civil Service, Governor’s Office of Employee Relations and the Division of Budget. Matters include, but are not limited to, confidential and highly-sensitive topics related to the recruitment and deployment of staff, reductions-in-force, examination planning, employee benefits, as well as the development statewide policy and procedures. Staff seek to build and maintain an effective workforce within the framework of the Civil Service system.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
The incumbent will be assigned to the Human Resources Office and under the direction of the Director of Human Resources, will be responsible for a full range of staffing activities including but not limited to:
• Recruitment
• Civil Service Test and Eligible List administration
• Leaves Management
• Classification and Compensation
• Item realignment
• Placement
• Benefits
• Health and Safety
• Staff Development
