Minimum Qualifications One year of trade experience subsequent to the completion of an apprenticeship or equivalent training and experience such as that required for a Carpenter, Construction Equipment Mechanic, Electrician, Electronic Equipment Mechanic, General Mechanic, Grounds Construction Supervisor, Locksmith, Machinist, Mason and Plasterer, Motor Equipment Mechanic, Painter, Plumber and Steamfitter, Refrigeration Mechanic, Roofer and Tinsmith, or Welder. This position may be filled from a mandatory reemployment list if one is in effect at the time of appointment. Candidates may be expected to be qualified to use negative pressure respirators.

Duties Description Ability to perform as a working supervisor in the Mechanical Repair Shop, overseeing maintenance and repair activities of multiple journey level trades staff in areas such as welding, ductwork fabrication, roof flashing, bollards, custom brackets, snowplow components and stationary equipment; ability to supervise, train, operate and ensure safe (knowledge of required safety equipment) and proper use of metal fabrication machinery (lathes, sheet metal brakes, shears, and milling equipment), MIG, TIG, stick and spot welding equipment and the proper gases used for torches and welders; band saws, chop saws and grinders; one and two person lifts for working at heights; ability to assist and oversee bleacher and curtain / wall repairs and coordinating outside vendors; working knowledge of maintenance and repair of overhead dock doors, fire doors, dock lifts, and emergency generators (electrical circuits, generators, batteries, charging systems, motors and switches); knowledge of banner installation and proper use of a bucket lift truck; use a computerized maintenance system; work at heights (+- 35’); use of aerial lifts, scaffolding and ladders; ability to wear a negative pressure respirator; Valid NYS Driver’s License required
