Minimum Qualifications Permanent service in this title, or one year of permanent competitive or 55b/c service in a title SG-11 or higher and otherwise eligible for transfer.
Duties Description The Agency Program Aide will provide technical support to higher level professional staff, which includes:
• Taking the lead on important administrative procedures such as handling travel arrangements and purchasing using SFS and Oracle, assisting with internal controls and office procedures, and submitting information into the NYS Register.
• Providing support to professional staff in all work related to the Juvenile Justice Advisory Group (JJAG), the Strategic Action Planning Committee, Disproportionate Minority Contact and Second Chance Act Re-entry work groups, which may include attending high level meetings across the State and taking detailed meeting notes.
• Conducting research, analysis, and problem solving with respect to the initiatives overseen by the Office, which will require the incumbent to gain an understanding of youth justice policy issues.
• Providing support to the Regional Youth Justice Team liaisons within the Office in terms of helping to plan regional meetings, developing materials regarding team goals and activities, developing technical assistance requests with teams, and providing other support to teams as necessary.
• Supporting professional staff with the coordination of technical assistance, developing materials and presentations, analyzing data, and other activities necessary to support efforts to reduce the school to prison pipeline.
• Assisting in the development of analytical tools which will be used to assess information submitted by users into the youth justice services database to assist the office in making decisions on local and state level policy issues.
• Assisting in writing various reports and issue briefs to showcase best practices in youth justice.
• Assisting professional staff with the processing and review of Request for Proposals (RFP) for funding applications from prospective grantees; and
• Maintaining the JJAG website, including ensuring the availability of up-to-date data and performance measures.
