Minimum Qualifications •DVM/VMD degree with the ability to be licensed to practice Veterinary Medicine in New York within 6 months of employment
•3 years applicable professional/clinical experience
•Valid unrestricted drivers license by the time of appointment
•Enthusiasm for teaching undergraduate Veterinary Technology students is of the utmost importance
•Excellent written and oral communication skills; good team player; and computer skills
Preferred Qualifications|
•Small and large animal clinical experience

Duties Description SUNY Delhi seeks dynamic, forward-thinking, and engaging Veterinary Science Faculty members to join the School of Veterinary & Applied Sciences. Delhi's Veterinary Science Technology Program began in 1961 and is the first vet tech program in the US. Only 22 programs in the US offer a Bachelor of Science in Veterinary Technology that are accredited by the AVMA and Delhi's BS in Veterinary Technology began in the Fall of 2017. There are 5 full-time veterinarians on faculty with the addition of a sixth, as well as 14 Licensed Vet Techs. The program has small and large animal teaching facilities with a wide variety of animals including a closed primate colony. We are the largest program in New York State and are slated for continued growth with a 25 million dollar renovation of our small animal laboratories and holding facilities.
Primary duties of the faculty member are teaching assigned courses offered by the Veterinary Science Technology Department as part of the A.A.S. and B.S. degree programs. Teaching responsibilities may include traditional classroom lecture, laboratory instruction, and online (or hybrid) coursework. Additional duties include veterinary care for college animals, student advisement, curriculum development, participation in department and college functions, and committee work. These are full-time tenure track positions with an academic year obligation (10 months) beginning in August of 2019.
