Minimum Qualifications The Environmental Protection Bureau in the New York State Office of the Attorney General (OAG) has been selected to host NYU School of Law School State Energy & Environmental Impact Center fellows. The fellows serve as special assistant attorneys general (special assistants) in the bureau, either in Albany or New York City. The special assistants provide the OAG with additional litigation resources on clean energy, climate change and other environmental matters.

We have an opening for a fellow to be hired by the NYU School of Law to serve a one (1) year term as a special assistant. The NYU School of Law will pay the salary of the fellow, and the State Impact Center will provide on-going support to the fellow. As a special assistant, the fellow will be supervised by the OAG and owe a duty of loyalty to the State of New York as their client.

Salary will be commensurate with experience in accordance with the pay scale of the OAG.

Fellows hosted by the OAG as special assistants will have responsibilities that include, but are not limited to the following:

• Litigate matters in the areas of clean energy, climate change, and other environmental issues.
• Perform highly advanced legal work, including conducting in-depth analysis and preparation of legal memoranda; interpreting laws and regulations; providing legal advice; and assisting in preparing legal notices, briefs, comment letters, and other associated litigation and regulatory documents.
• Coordinate with the State Impact Center and other entities on clean energy, climate change, and other environmental issues.
• Prepare periodic reports of activities and progress for the State Impact Center.
