Duties Description The incumbent will assist management in analyzing administrative, technical and managerial issues hindering the effective and efficient operation of the organizational units and the Agency’s mission and assist with identifying solutions for these issues. Duties of this position will include, but will not be limited to, the following:
• Develop and maintain a complete working knowledge of the Claims Assistant (CA) application and an understanding of how the system is utilized within the different units;
• Identify and analyze issues for existing systems and participate in discussions with senior management and staff from the Office of Information Technology Services (ITS) to resolve identified issues;
• Work with senior management on specialized assignments which may involve organizational changes and new business projects;
• Perform business analysis functions for new projects and develop project requirements;
• Provide end user support for the Victim Services Portal (VSP), providing assistance for user error issues, and liaising with ITS staff on technical issues;
• Review and update all procedure manuals as they relate to the rules and policies pertaining to proper utilization of Claims Assistant;
• Redesign and update OVS’ website/intranet (using Drupal software), assisting other editors as needed;
• Assist ITS with further development of the Agency’s Dashboard reports;
• Liaise with Office of Children and Family Services (OCFS) Call Center business analysts to maintain the most efficient use of Interactive Voice Response (IVR) and call center representatives;
• Evaluate and approve updates submitted by ITS when Agency approval is required;
• Function as the liaison between OVS and other State agencies that share connectivity with OVS to obtain all necessary information required for processing claims;
• Assist the Legal Unit with vendor contracts;
• Act as a liaison between business and ITS staff;
• Serve as Agency Lean Coordinator with responsibility for development of the Lean Process Improvement Plan; and
• May supervise staff.
