Minimum Qualifications In order to be considered for appointment, candidates must be reachable from the appropriate Civil Service eligible list or be eligible for re-assignment, transfer or promotion in accordance with Civil Service Law. Current or prior Law Enforcement experience is preferred but is not required.
Duties Description Under the direction of an Investigator 2, the incumbent will participate in the investigation of alleged criminal activity, misconduct and other wrongdoing within the Department of Transportation, as well as investigations into any entity or individual conducting business with the Department. Duties will include: the review of complaints, development of investigative plans, conducting interviews and interrogations, performing surveillance, data analysis, evidence gathering, report writing, and testifying at trials and administrative hearings. Additional duties will include conducting joint investigations with Federal, State and local authorities. This position is based out of Albany, NY and requires occasional travel throughout New York State.
