Minimum Qualifications Candidates must be in title, or eligible for transfer, or reachable on the Civil Service Eligible List.
Candidates eligible for transfer must be in a position allocated to Grade 18 or higher, having either substantial administrative (Section 52.6, Civil Service Law), or fiscal content, or in one of the following titles: Chief Housekeeper 1, Chief Housekeeper 2, Resources and Reimbursement Agent 1, Health Facilities Management Assistant, Senior Accountant, Head Account Clerk, Chief Account Clerk, Resources and Reimbursement Agent 2, Resources and Reimbursement Agent 3, Coordinator of Volunteer Services, Chief Safety and Security Officer 1, Chief Safety and Security Officer 2, Maintenance Supervisor 4, Plant Superintendent C, Plant Superintendent B, Head Stationary Engineer or Plant Utilities Engineer 4, Senior Auditor, Nutrition Services Administrator 1, and Nutrition Services Administrator 2.

If certified by Civil Service, mandatory re-employment list candidates must be considered first for appointment to this title.
QUALIFYING EXPERIENCE FOR APPOINTMENT FROM THE ELIGIBLE LIST: After one year of the service described in the minimum qualifications, successful candidates will be qualified for appointment from
the eligible list.
Duties Description POSITION DESCRIPTION:
Assistant Business Officers, functioning either as the principal assistant to a Business Officer or as the highest level business and fiscal officer at an Office for People With Developmental Disabilities (OPWDD) location, provide management direction and control of business administration, fiscal and support service activities. The incumbent for this position will work in the Division of Enterprise Solutions and oversee the financial operations of Broome DDSOO.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Management and supervision of Budget, Cash Office, Audits, P, T, N Card Administration, and Mailroom.
• Provide training and technical assistance to employees.
• Oversee NPS revenues, expenditures, and segregations.
• Manage financial data through the use of SFS reporting tools.
• Responsible for Personal Allowance auditing, and assessment of internal controls.
• Monitor compliance with NYS Finance Laws and OSC’s GFO.
• Ensure financial transactions are authorized and appropriate.
• Liaise with Broome Leadership
