Minimum Qualifications MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Candidates must be reachable for appointment on the current NYS Civil Service eligible list or a current New York State employee eligible to transfer under Section 52.6 or Section 70.1 of the Civil Service Law.
Preferred Experience: Demonstrated ability to plan and execute strategic decisions, communicate and implement critical management and business practices, and deliver the outcomes expected by the individuals we serve.
Duties Description PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
The incumbent of this position will be part of OPWDD Division of Service Delivery, Regional Offices unit, which addresses the service and residential needs of individuals who desire support from OPWDD. The candidate of this position will serve as the Family Support Services (FSS) Coordinator that plays a critical role of ensuring statewide coordination, as well as quality and consistency of approach for procedures used to support individuals seeking OPWDD Family Support Services.
Responsibilities of the Program Operations Specialist 2 may include, but are not limited to, the following:
• Implement policy and procedure development and continuous quality review and improvement activities associated with the FSS Program Statewide.
• Facilitate ongoing communication and business operations of the FSS Coordinators and advisory councils, including quarterly meetings, in-person and WebEx trainings to advance needed decisions and guidance.
• Collaborate with the Statewide Family Support Services Committee members to ensure that issues are addressed, that meeting agendas are coordinated, and minutes are disseminated.
• Interface as needed with Central office leadership and staff, Counsel’s office, DDRO leadership, and other stakeholder groups.
• Develop and update statewide FSS guidance documents and standardized template forms for implementation statewide with input from Counsel’s office, DDRO staff, stakeholders, and other relevant OPWDD divisions.
• Respond to data requests and related to FSS program and expenditures.
• Other duties as duties as assigned
