Minimum Qualifications • Any permanent Developmental Assistant 3.
• Any permanent employee who would meet eligibility requirements for a 70.1 transfer.
• Anyone currently reachable on the Civil Service list.
Provisional appointment may be considered. To be eligible for appointment, candidates must have you must be a qualified employee of the New York State Office for People with Developmental Disabilities and have had one year of permanent competitive or 55-b/55-c service as a Developmental Assistant 1, Developmental Assistant 1 (In Residence Model), Developmental Assistant 2, Senior Licensed Practical Nurse 2, or Developmental Disabilities Secure Care Treatment Aide 2.

Duties Description POSITION DESCRIPTION:
This Developmental Assistant 3 assists in preparing the Direct Care Bids within Region 2 Broome, including evaluating, monitoring, and maintaining 28 day schedules, communicating with teams and employees on the availability of staff, assisting in the maintenance of the Direct Care Vacancy spreadsheet, preparing Direct Care Job Opportunities/postings, organizing rebids/redeployments as necessary, and resolving any issues that may arise. The person in this position also responds to Staffing Department questions by telephone and face-to-face, participates in Overtime Reduction Committee activities, and completes DA3 duties as assigned. They supervise float staff, conduct site-visits, and allocation reviews as assigned. They provide supervision, mentor staff, and assist with training. They will assist in completion of weekly Vehicle Schedule requests and provide to Transportation Department in advance, they will communicate with teams on the assignments of float pool staff, and communicate with float staff, ensuring worksite orientations occur as assignments change. They will assist in completing other duties and special projects, details to be discussed during interview.


PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Provide supervisory oversight as assigned including to members of the Broome float team.
• Assist in completion of OT Evaluation process and other required forms/evaluations as assigned.
• Ensure OT/ET agreements are followed.
• Provide oversight of Staffing throughout the DDSOO and serve in an advisory capacity to management.
• Review schedules and ensure optimal resource usage.
• Review and provide feedback to managers on balancing schedules to meet operational needs.
• Review schedules, post and track vacancies, and ensure requests to post reflect approved allocation while meeting the needs of the worksite.
• Recognize and make recommendations regarding overtime, extra-time, and deployment of staff.
• Provide training in proper scheduling practices as well as provide support to teams as needed or requested. Maintain and distribute scheduling related forms, posting and bidding info etc.
• Provide specific and detailed reports related to staff utilization as requested.
• Participate in OT Reduction Committee and other committees and workgroups as assigned.
• Provide training related to Overtime, Extra-time, OT/ET Evaluation Checklists.
• Manage/supervise Broome DDSOO’s float staff assigned across all six-counties including monitoring compliance with training, verifying hours worked, evaluating, and providing mentorship/feedback, as well as participating in determining float assignments and communicating assignments with all parties.
• Participate in special projects as directed by administration, including team level investigations, and short and long-term reports.
