Minimum Qualifications Candidates must have one year of permanent competitive service as a Contract Management Specialist 1, G-18 or;
Candidates must have one year of permanent competitive service in a title eligible for transfer via Section 52.6 or 70.1 of the Civil Service Law.
Appointment to Contract Management Specialist Trainee 1 or 2, NS*: $42,986 (Hiring Rate)- $55,008 (Job Rate)
Candidates must have one year of permanent competitive service in a title eligible for transfer via Section 52.6 or 70.1 of the Civil Service Law or: Candidates may be eligible for nomination for transfer under Section 70.4 of the Civil Service Law if they are a current NYS employee with one year of permanent competitive or 55 b/c service in a title salary grade 11 or higher AND have standing on the Professional Career Opportunities (PCO) or Public Administration Trainee Transition (PATT) eligible lists AND possess a bachelor’s degree.
Exceptional written and verbal communications skills, with a demonstrated ability to skillfully draft and edit complex documents, are expected. In addition, candidates should be:
• Adept at reprioritizing work in light of quickly shifting priorities.
• Well organized and successful at quickly completing quality work to meet short deadlines.
• Able to work independently and/or as part of a team.
• Capable of thinking creatively and strategically.
Duties Description Under the supervision of the Assistant Director Financial Administration 3 responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
Develop and review specifications for all Brooklyn DDSOO contracts.
Prepare final contract specifications submission to OPWDD Contract Management Unit (CMU).
Liaison with Contract Management Unit and Office of State Comptroller (OSC) as necessary to ensure timely processing and approval of all contracts.
Provide fiscal and administrative oversight of all contracts.
Audit and process contract claims and vouchers.
Review contract terms and contract payments to ensure compliance with contract terms.
Provide supervision and leadership for the Accounts Payable Unit and ensure compliance with the rules of all regulatory agencies and OPWDD fiscal Management.
Additional Comments • This position is pending Division of Budget Approval.
