Minimum Qualifications Current New York State employee with one year or more of permanent or contingent-permanent service as an Office Assistant 2, G-9 OR one year or more of permanent or contingent-permanent service in a title at or above a G-7 and eligible for transfer under section 70.1 of the Civil Service Law.

Preferred Qualifications:
The preferred candidate would have excellent communication, analytical, and organizational skills. Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel spreadsheets and Outlook. Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple assignments.

Duties Description As part of the Bureau of Community Enrollment and Eligibility Processing within the Division of Eligibility and Marketplace Integration, the Office Assistant 2 will be responsible for clerical and office support work. Duties may include, but not be limited to: Operate various communication systems such as telephones, fax, and computers; and log such communications, schedule appointments and meetings using various office tools. Assist in preparing and reviewing correspondence, documents, records, and other written material. Prepare routine reports or assist others in the preparation of reports following established guidelines. Receive, pick up, deliver, open, appropriately record, time stamp, sort, and distribute mail, e-mail, or other forms of correspondence or communication, goods, or materials. Process returned mail and send spreadsheets to the correct unit for corrective action. Maintain files, correspondence, documents, records, materials, and store pursuant to guidelines. Order, receive, sort inventory and distribute all office supplies following established procedures. Scan documents and verify accuracy of data from scanned documents. Mail and file Medicaid applications.
