Minimum Qualifications To be considered for permanent appointment, candidates must be reachable on the current Civil Service eligible list or be eligible for reassignment or transfer in accordance with Civil Service Law.
Duties Description Under the direction and supervision of a licensed professional engineer, incumbents perform a variety of duties depending on assignment.
When assigned to Construction, typical duties may include, but are not limited to:
•Function as an Engineer-In-Charge on Department construction projects.
•Working on projects that are technically complex and require CPM/accelerated scheduling and community involvement.
•Ensure work performed by contractors meets contract specifications and engineering standards.
•Review consultant and contractor plans and estimates, etc.
•Initiate design changes and orders-on-contract, complete daily work reports and prepare final documents and record plans.
Responsibilities may also include participating within the Incident Command System to support the Department’s response to regional and statewide emergency situations
