Minimum Qualifications Candidates must possess a valid New York State driver’s license appropriate for the type of vehicle to be operated, which is a Class A or B CDL with an Air Brake Endorsement.

Duties Description Interested candidates may be needed to make deliveries to and pick up from state and county DMV offices throughout NYS, including Albany, Buffalo, Rochester and the NYC/Metro area. The Motor Vehicle Operator must also perform various other warehouse duties as assigned. This position includes occasional mandatory overtime, ranging from 5-20 hours per month. The requirements of this position include:
• Candidates must possess and maintain a valid New York State commercial driver’s license, Class B, with an air brakes endorsement.
• The Motor Vehicle Operator may deliver monthly supply orders to state and county offices according to the monthly run schedule that is set up for the following groups or areas:
• Groups 1 thru 5 are downstate same day trips (New York City/Metro Area, Mid-Hudson Region, and Long Island)
• Group 6 is an overnight to Western New York (Cayuga, Erie, Genesee, Livingston, Madison, Monroe, Niagara, Oneida, Onondaga, Ontario, Oswego, and Seneca County)
• Groups 7 thru 10 are local deliveries (Albany, Columbia, Delaware, Fulton, Greene, Herkimer, Montgomery, Rensselaer, Saratoga, Schenectady, Schoharie, Warren, Washington County).
• Multiple trips per week are scheduled as needed to deliver supplies to the DMV Central Office on Swan St. in Albany, and to bring transaction paperwork from Central Office to the Records Center in Guilderland Center.
Duties:
• Delivery schedules are adequately maintained and the orders are delivered to the proper locations.
• Solely responsible for loading, securing the load and unloading the truck, van or rental vehicle as necessary, in a safe and timely manner using the appropriate material handling equipment.
• Moves or carries cargo from the vehicle to the delivery or storage point. Carrying may require lifting of up to 100 pounds.
• When not driving the truck the MVO works in the warehouse and/or loading docks loading and unloading trucks as well as pulling and assembling orders for delivery and other duties as needed.
Some positions may require additional credentials or a background check to verify your identity.
