Minimum Qualifications Must be in good physical condition. Must have and maintain a valid driver's license and meet at least one of the following requirements:
(A) a one year course at a ranger school, or similar learning institution, in a park or natural resource management, law enforcement or similar curriculum; or
(B) one season (6 months minimum) of recreation facility experience involving contact with the public or in the enforcement of laws, rules and regulations; or
(C) one year of working or interacting with the public in a recreational facility; or
(D) one year of environmental experience in a remote wilderness setting; or
(E) have six months work experience in law enforcement, security services employment, military service or similar experience actively involved with public contact or in the enforcement of laws, policies, and rules and regulations; or
(F) have completed at least 15 college credit hours in criminal justice or similar course work.
Duties Description Provide night time security and camper assistance. Duties can also include cleaning/maintenance, front end customer service and camper registration. Must have dependable transportation and be able to work assigned shifts. Must report to work on time, be well groomed, wear appropriate attire or assigned uniform, including work shoes - no sneakers. Issued clothing must be kept clean and presentable. Will be required to work weekends and holidays. Will be required to do manual work in park (such as lifting garbage cans chest high, using rakes and shovels, push/riding lawn mowers, and cleaning toilets). Will be required to speak clearly and communicate with others, i.e., the camping public, coworkers, etc. Will be required to read and understand the Campground Operations Manual and perform all assigned functions defined within. Will be required to communicate any issues with supervisor and complete assignments with high consideration for the safety of the employee and others. Will be required to operate a personal computer for time and attendance submittal, revenue accounting purposes and permit issuance.
Additional Comments Must have valid driver’s license or demonstrate the ability to meet the transportation needs of the position. Must be able to negotiate difficult terrain and/or work in remote areas. Must be able to work in adverse weather conditions. Travel may be required. Overtime may be required. Weekends and holidays may be required. Must be available for emergency response. Must be available to respond to after-hours emergencies. Must be able to lift and move objects up to 40 pounds.
This is a temporary position with a duration of 6/1/19 through 10/27/19. Actual work hours and schedule will be discussed at interview.
