Minimum Qualifications Permanent service in this title, or one year of permanent competitive or 55-b/c service in a title SG-4 or higher and otherwise eligible for transfer under Section 70.1 of the Civil Service Law. Candidates eligible for 55-b/c appointment are also eligible to apply.

Duties Description The incumbent will be part of a team responsible for providing a compassionate and friendly voice to individuals who have been the victims of crime. Specific duties will include but are not limited to: data entry of all incoming claim applications; monitoring the Victim Service Portal and assigning claims to staff; answering the 800 and main telephone lines and routing calls as appropriate; assisting victims, claimants and providers with the disposition and status of claims and reimbursements; scanning and assigning tasks for all incoming correspondence; scanning data entered claim applications; setting up claim folders; printing and mailing final OVS decisions; filing and purging records; serving as a backup in preparing and disseminating all outgoing mail; processing incoming mail; and preparing and receiving packages.
