The successful candidate for this position will:

• Possess an ability to communicate in a thorough, concise, accurate and professional manner both verbally and in writing, including the ability to speak in public for information sharing.
• Have experience working directly with individuals with developmental disabilities and families.
• Demonstrate empathy, respect and warmth when interacting with those we serve and their families/advocates, colleagues within the Regional Office, as well as colleagues in Central Office, State Operations and the other Provider Agencies the RO is associated with along with the public at large.
• Possess a working knowledge base of NY CRR 633.12 and OPWDD’s Community Placement (preferred).
• Possess proficiency with Word, Excel and CHOICES (preferred).
• Have demonstrated an ability to manage time well and work independently, including having shown an ability to travel to and from various sites in a reasonable amount of time, ensuring that OPWDD and the Regional Office is consistently represented in a manner which exemplifies professionalism and honors the public trust.
• Possess a positive work history (E-file).
• Possess an acceptable attendance record as specified in CNY DDSO’s T&A Policy.

Duties Description POSITION DESCRIPTION:

This position serves as a Provider Support Liaison for the Western Counties (Cayuga, Cortland, Onondaga, Oswego of CNYDDRO district. The position will also be subject to additional duties related to the Managed Care Transition.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Provide back up to the Provider Support Liaison in the Eastern part of the CNY district.
• Responsible for follow up on behalf of the Regional Office when complaints and issues from outside entities and families are received that require the Regional Office’s attention.
• Conduit for on-going communication within the district with Voluntary Provider Agencies to ensure service delivery conformity.
• Responsible to ensure that Voluntary Agency Providers are providing services to individuals in accordance with OPWDD Regulations.
• Liaison between the Regional Office and the Bureau of Program Certification.
• Track and respond to Commissioner Correspondences.
• Attend County Developmental Disabilities Sub-committee meetings and other meetings requested by the Team Leader.
• Act as the Regional Office HCBS Settings Liaison.
• Serve as the Regional Office’s NY CRR 633.12 Liaison.
• Provide back-up to Property Development and Lease Management Coordinator.
