Minimum Qualifications Transfer Qualifications: Any permanent Developmental Assistant 3
Any permanent employee eligible for a 70.1 transfer.
Promotional Qualifications: Anyone reachable on the current New York State Department of Civil Service list for Developmental Assistant 3
Provisional Appointment: In the event that there is not a valid eligible list, candidates who meet the minimum qualifications below may be qualified for a provisional appointment.
Minimum Qualifications: You must be a qualified employee of the New York State Office for People With Developmental Disabilities and have had permanent competitive or 55 b/55-c service as: a Developmental Assistant 1, Developmental Assistant 1 (In Residence Model),* Developmental Assistant 2, Senior Licensed Practical Nurse 2, or Developmental Disabilities Secure Care Treatment Aide 2. After one year of the service described above, successful candidates will be qualified for appointment from the eligible list.
Duties Description PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Supervise and coordinate direct support and mid-level supervisory staff (on campus DDSCTA Trainees, I, and II) across shifts and work sites to ensure appropriate coverage and use of staff.
• Perform a wide variety of administrative and supervisory tasks (including but not limited to: training requirements, performance evaluations, incident management tasks – protections, documentation, follow-up, etc., conducting investigations, monitor and follow-up on environmental and physical plant issues, implement regulatory requirements)
• Daily Documented Rounds at both locations.
• Ensuring that all necessary staff trainings are completed, as well as assisting other teams on campus if need be.
• Instruct mid-level supervisors about the tasks to be performed, and provides them with written/verbal guidelines.
• Review EHR notes and 24 hr. reports at the end of shift to ensure the teams are made aware of any issue that occurred for the next day’s morning meeting.
• Review the use of overtime and revises assignments as necessary.
• Assist higher-level supervisory/administrative staff to coordinate matters related to employee corrective/disciplinary actions.
• Review administrative reports and follows up as required.
• Prepare worksites to be inspected by administrative staff or outside monitoring agencies.
• Maintain good time and attendance record.
• Complete all mandatory training.
• Performs tasks as assigned by supervisor, and as guided by agency policies and procedures.
• All other duties as assigned.
