Minimum Qualifications *A Master's degree in Woody Plant Biology, Botany, Forestry, Forest Ecology, Plant Science, Horticulture or a related field, and strong professional or research background in Woody Plants, Forestry, Botany, or Plant Health Care, plus 2 years (4,000 hours) of relevant occupational experience.
*Knowledge of northeastern US forest and landscape woody plants, silviculture, and applied arboriculture experience.
*Other desired qualifications include applied experience with geographic information systems (GIS)
*Able to work with faculty in an interdisciplinary setting.
*Demonstrated excellence in teaching, effective communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to work as part of a dynamic team.
*The ability to prepare and implement applied laboratory exercises.

Duties Description Department Instructional Expectations:

*Plan, develop, and present organized learning opportunities for students in accordance with course outlines.
*Prepare curriculum materials, syllabi, and other instructional materials.
*Strong communication skills and demonstrated ability to teach effectively at the undergraduate level, particularly in courses with hands on or field based labs.
*Prepare and shutdown own classes and labs.
*Maintain accurate student records, including attendance and grades.
*Provide students with meaningful feedback in a timely manner.
*Comply with institutional deadlines.
*Maintain office hours and availability to students.
*Continuous improvement of the course curriculum; content delivery, assessment, and responsiveness to student needs.

Additional Comments This is a full time, 10 month, non-tenure track appointment.
This is a NSA-6 position.
The salary range for this position is $40,000-$45,000.
The anticipated start date for this position is August 2019.
