Minimum Qualifications • Must be a permanent Office Assistant 2 (Calculations), Grade 9;
- OR –
• Eligible for a 70.1 transfer by way of current permanent status in a title deemed comparable to Office Assistant 2
(Calculations) by the Department of Civil Service (must also be within 2 salary grades of grade 9)
-OR –
• Eligible for provisional appointment.
Minimum Qualifications for Provisional Appointment:
You must be a qualified employee of New York State and have had one-year of permanent competitive or 55-b/55-c service in an office assistant, clerical, or keyboarding title allocated to Grade 5 or higher.

Only the titles listed are qualifying for these examinations. Service in a direct care title is not qualifying experience. Examples of non-qualifying titles are: Developmental Disabilities Secure Care Treatment Aide 1, Direct Support Assistant, Food Service Worker 1, Licensed Practical Nurse, Mental Health Therapy Aide, Security Services Assistant, and Youth Division Aide.
NOTE: Provisional appointments will only be considered if there are insufficient In-title and/or Civil Service List candidates.
Duties Description Office Assistants 2 either supervise two or more Office Assistants 1 or other lower-level staff; and/or directly perform the more difficult or complicated clerical processing and office support work for which substantive knowledge of the program area is required.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Performs the entry and maintenance of projects on the OPWDD Development Plan in connection with
budgeting and planning of expenditures in the Hudson Valley district by the Non-for-Profit providers of OPWDD
services.
• Maintenance of the Housing, Employment, Home & Day services accounts for the Not-for-Profit providers on
the OPWDD Development Plan.
• Compiles worksheets for funding service requests, reconciles accounts, makes and adjusts entries.
• Assists with compiling the boilerplate documents and entering the specifics for Voluntary Provider agencies for
housing subsidies and other state funded services, tracks returned documents and sends to Budget Services
in Central Office
• Logs in assistive support prices from the Deputy Commissioner and Budget Services and sends copies of the
approved prices to the Providers.
• Provides Administrative support to the staff within the Community Funding/Self Direction and Development
Teams.
• Other duties as assigned.
