Minimum Qualifications Education level required: Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Political Science, Government, Information Management or a related field.
Equivalent Experience required: 4 + years relevant business experience including economic development and information management.
Knowledge/Skills Required: Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills. Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects / tasks simultaneously, take initiative, and work independently. Familiarity with business, not-for-profit, and governmental agencies and general knowledge of New York State’s geography and economies. Strong attention to detail. Experience and knowledge of Microsoft Excel and database management.

Duties Description Basic Function: Support the Regional Economic Development Council initiative by assisting with the management of the Consolidated Funding Application (CFA) and execution of programs included in the Regional Economic Development Council initiative along with providing assistance, data management, and supporting reporting efforts to the Economic Incentives Unit.

Work Performed:
•Manage the implementation of programs participating within the Regional Economic Development Council (REDC) initiative.
•Manage the administration of the Consolidated Funding Application (CFA) system between program staff and ITS to ensure the continued success of the CFA along with reviewing the system to identify enhancements and meet the needs for new and existing programs.
•Manage the coordination between ESD Regional Offices and State Agencies to execute the
release of state agency programs and resources for the REDC initiative.
•Provide oversight and assistance to agency staff and ESD regional staff to ensure projects are being executed in a timely manner.
•Review, analyze, and maintain the CFA tracking system to ensure the system is properly updated by all participating agencies while coordinating with ESD Regional Offices to ensure the data is in compliance for reporting standards.
•Assist with guidance and strategy assistance to the Vice President of Regional Economic Development on various programs to create a more efficient environment for external use and internal collection of metrics and other data.
•Prepare various administrative and REDC related documents, including the following: REDC Resources Available; REDC guidebook; schedules; reports; presentations; memoranda; project summaries; and other documents as needed.
•Coordinate with other State Agencies participating in the REDC initiative to ensure the necessary resources are in place to successfully implement programs utilizing the CFA.
•Attend and represent ESD at REDC Related Events.
•Coordinate directly with the REDC’s and Regional Offices on REDC matters.
•Market the CFA with stakeholders throughout the state.
•Prepare various administrative and REDC related documents, including the following: REDC Resources Available; REDC guidebook; schedules; reports; presentations; memoranda; project summaries; and other documents as needed.
•Assist with the production of relevant data and reports necessary for the continued success of REDC initiative.
•Provide assistance in other special initiatives as needed or requested by executive staff.
