Minimum Qualifications MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Employees who possess the following minimum qualifications may apply:

For a permanent appointment:

1. Employees currently holding permanent competitive appointment (or a permanent competitive appointment under Section 4.11) as an Auditor 2 OR
2. Employees who are eligible via 70.1 or 52.6 transfer to this title. OR
3. Applicants who are reachable on the current NYS eligible list for the Auditor 2.

Duties Description DESCRIPTION OF JOB DUTIES:
1) Objectively review HESC’s business processes and internal controls in accordance with the Institute of Internal Auditors International Standards for the Professional Practice of Internal Auditing, the U.S. Government Accountability Office’s Government Auditing Standards and/or any other related industry standards.
2) Provide assurance and consultative services to management in furtherance of the agencies strategic plan.
3) Evaluate the efficacy of risk management procedures that are currently in place.
4) Ensure that the organization is complying with relevant laws and statutes.
5) Make recommendations on how to improve internal controls and governance processes.
6) Define and implement audit methodology procedures, tools, work papers and all audit related documentation.
7) Align activities with HESC's internal audit strategy, goals, objectives as well as the objectives of the agency as a whole.
8) Build and nurture key management and business relationships.
9) Assist in developing and managing external relationships — external auditors, regulatory, consultants.
10) Drive internal audit initiatives, special projects, and improvement initiatives.
11) Perform any other audit related duties as assigned.
