Minimum Qualifications MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: For permanent appointment, candidate must be currently employed by New York State as a Habilitation Specialist 1 with permanent or contingent permanent service and eligible for transfer, OR Currently be employed by New York State and reachable for appointment on the Civil Service list for this title.
Duties Description PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: A Habilitation Specialist 1 is required at the Metro Manhattan Day Habilitation Program for the following duties:
• Will run a class room program
• Will meet with the ITT on an annual/semi-annual base to develop goals
• Will train DSAs assigned to their program class room
• Will maintain a safe environment to safe guard the individuals
• Daily monitoring of data entry, service compliance and inclusions
• Closely monitoring records books to ensure compliance
• Supervise and closely monitor work performances of all staff.
