Minimum Qualifications Nurse 1: A registered nurse in NYS with current registration to practice.
Nurse 2: A registered nurse in NYS with current registration to practice. One year of post-licensure registered clinical experience including six months post-licensure specialized nursing experience with individuals, at least 50% of whom have been diagnosed with mental illness, alcoholism, or chemical dependency ~OR~ eighteen months of post-licensure registered nurse general clinical experience. Candidate must be eligible and maintain eligibility for full and unconditional participation in the Medicaid and Medicare programs. Failure to maintain licensure, certification and Medicaid/Medicare eligibility will result in the termination of employment.

Duties Description DUTIES
The incumbent will provide nursing services and care to patients. Specific duties include:
• Ensures safety and security of facility and its patients; takes action to maintain a positive and healthy milieu;
• Assesses patients and provides nursing and health care and counseling, completes patient admission process, transcribes physician’s orders, and sets-up and administers medications;
• In absence of shift charge, could function as shift charge (assigns tasks and monitors work performed);
• Communicates with facility physician and others in regard to patient care; utilizes electronic inter-shift log;
• Reports and discusses facility operating and patient care needs to outgoing - incoming shift during shift change report;
• Participates in activities intended to improve patient care and facility operations to include monitoring and evaluation activities, and involvement on professional advisory groups;
• Participates as a member of a multi-disciplinary treatment team;
• Other nursing duties or ATC tasks as needed/assigned;
• Incumbent will be required to work overtime shifts periodically as needed.
