Minimum Qualifications A Bachelor’s Degree in a human services, social services, social work, counseling, public administration, criminal justice or closely related field. A Master’s Degree in one of these concentrations is preferred. Ten years of progressively responsible experience in standards, quality assurance, performance improvement and/or investigations. At least 5 of these years must have been in a managerial capacity. Candidate must have knowledge of substance use disorder services and administration.
Duties Description The Associate Commissioner is a policy making position with responsibility for formulating and carrying out OASAS statewide policy initiatives within the areas of standards, quality assurance, performance improvement, workforce development, and investigations. The incumbent will direct the Bureaus Certification, Standards Compliance, Talent Management, and Investigations. This includes providing oversight and developing policies/procedures for certification of OASAS-certified provider agencies, adherence to regulatory and quality care standards, articulating and ensuring patient rights, professional development activities, credentialing and investigative activities, and the Impaired Driver Services Program.
