Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree with a major in community health and family studies, correctional studies, counseling, criminal justice, human services, psychology, public justice, social work, sociology or vocational rehabilitation and two years of experience providing individual and/or group counseling in a recognized correctional, criminal justice or community human services program aimed at assisting clients with resolution of major social, behavioral and personal problems. Experience must include responsibility for conducting counseling sessions designed to provide the participant with counseling for social and personal problems such as alcohol and drug abuse, mental, behavioral and emotional problems A Master's degree with a major in any of the above listed may be substituted for one year of required experience. You would be required to perform the duties of an ORC for a caseload which included monolingual Spanish speaking inmates., You would be required to take a written Spanish test for knowledge of the Spanish language.
Duties Description Conducts initial interviews and establishes inmate goals. Individual and group counseling sessions are conducted. Oversees orientation and ART. Completes case plans quarterly, scheduled and unscheduled transfer review updates goals and monitors status of goals. Prepares various reports associated with inmate caseload such as earned eligibility, merit time and presumptive release evaluations, temporary release reviews, limited credit time and inmate to inmate correspondence. Assists with coverage during peer staff absence, Covers caseload functions for absent staff according to prescribe schedule and directed by supervisor. Completes inmate status reports, COMPAS assessments and case management. Entries in CMS to prepare offenders assigned to caseload for their respective board appearances and to address the community supervision needs of those inmates. Provides tier III assistance.
