Minimum Qualifications Current NYS Department of Health employee with permanent or contingent-permanent, competitive status as a Health Program Administrator 1, G-23 OR a NYS employee with one year or more of permanent or contingent-permanent, competitive service in a title at or above a G-21 and deemed eligible for transfer to Health Program Administrator 1, G-23 under Section 70.1 or Section 52.6 of the NYS Civil Service Law.
Knowledge of public health programs and experience in program and contract management, planning, and development. Fiscal expertise to include budget development, familiarity with audits, and voucher processing. Understanding of database and spreadsheets as tools in fiscal and program management; high level of competence using the following computer programs: Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel, and Power Point; Adobe Pro, 0365 and Share Point., as well as other computer software applications, computer systems and information technology. Knowledge in reading and developing simple floor plans based on given information is a plus as is fiscal expertise to include budget development, familiarity with audits and voucher processing. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including public speaking and presentations; experience supervising professional staff; the ability to manage multiple projects with complex and sometimes competing priorities; and the ability to work independently as well as with a diverse group of individuals.

Duties Description As a Health Program Administrator 1 in the MARO DON WIC Program, you will be working in a team environment. You will be responsible for reviewing and evaluating MARO WIC local agencies, budgets, monthly vouchers and site moves and closure requests in accordance with Federal and State regulations. In addition, this position is responsible for assessing and resolving patient flow and clinic environment

Additional Comments Permanent, full-time, competitive appointment. Regional travel for agency site visits and occasional travel, including overnight stay.
