Minimum Qualifications MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Candidates reachable on the Civil Service Eligible list(s) will be canvassed. However, you may also apply if you are eligible for appointment by one of the following qualifications:

70.1 TRANSFER QUALIFICATIONS: One year of permanent, contingent-permanent, or 55 b/c service as a Grade 16 or higher determined to be similar by Civil Service.

70.4 TRANSFER QUALIFICATIONS: Candidates with (1) one year of permanent, contingent-permanent or 55 b/c service at salary grade 11 or higher AND (2) a Bachelor’s degree* with a passing score on the Labor Services Representative Examination may be considered for a 70.4 transfer to a Labor Services Representative, Trainee 1.

*From an educational institution accredited by a regional, national or specialized agency recognized as an accrediting agency by the U.S. Department of Education/U.S. Secretary of Education.

Hourly LSR’s are not eligible for transfer or reassignment.

Duties Description STANDARD DUTIES:

As a Labor Services Representative, you would assist customers and provide a broad range of services to jobseekers and employers both on an individual basis and through group presentations. You would interview customers to evaluate the nature of services desired, obtaining a complete work history including job experience, education, skills, salary ranges and job preferences. You would identify barriers to employment and develop solutions to these barriers. You would provide information on resources available through the Department of Labor.

Position specific job duties may include occasional altered work schedule or job assignments which require availability and willingness to work occasional evenings and or out-stationed assignments.
