Minimum Qualifications Must currently be a permanent Training Specialist 1 Mental Hygiene, Grade 18.
OR
Must be active and reachable on the Civil Service eligible list for Training Specialist 1 Mental Hygiene.
OR
Must be eligible for a 70.1 transfer by way of current permanent status in a title deemed comparable to Training Specialist 1 Mental Hygiene by the Department of Civil Service (must also be within 2 salary grades of a Grade 18).
A Valid NYS Driver’s License
FOR PROVISIONAL APPOINTMENT:
You must have a Bachelor’s degree in a human services field* and two years of experience in developing and delivering classroom training involving the concepts and techniques of care for individuals with mental illness or developmental disabilities in a mental hygiene setting.
*The human services field includes disciplines related to the following: addiction studies, child and family studies, communication, communication disorders, community health, medicine, education, gerontology, health administration, human services, nursing, nutrition, occupational therapy, physical therapy, psychology, recreation therapy, creative arts therapy, rehabilitation counseling, social work, and sociology.
Duties Description • Successfully complete requirements to become an instructor in PROMOTE and CPR
• Deliver training programs including, but not limited to PROMOTE and CPR
• Deliver New Employee Orientation sessions as assigned.
• Become a Statewide Learning Management System (SLMS) secondary administrator
• Assist in SLMS data entry
• Assist staff in negotiating the SLMS
• Maintain materials necessary for training
• Assist with classroom and equipment set up
• Provide ongoing support to training classes
• Travel as needed to support training needs
• Informs employees of available educational and training opportunities.
• Complete other duties as assigned by supervisor

• The assignment of PS&T employees will be made in accordance with the Memorandum of Understanding between PEF and Hudson Valley DDSO regarding the posting of job vacancies.

The PSLF Program forgives the remaining balance on Direct Loans after 120 qualifying monthly payments have been made under a qualifying repayment plan while working full-time for a qualifying employer.
