Minimum Qualifications Interested candidates must be a current NYS employee eligible to transfer under Section 52.6, 70.1 or 70.4 of the Civil Service Law or reachable on the appropriate Civil Service eligible list (PATT, PCO). Candidates may be required to serve a 2-year traineeship that leads to the grade 18 position.
To be eligible to transfer under Section 52.6, candidates must have one year of permanent competitive service in a 52.6 title allocated to a SG-16 or higher.
To be eligible to transfer under Section 70.1, candidates must have one year of permanent competitive service in the following title: Mental Hygiene Staff Development Specialist 3.
To be eligible to transfer under Section 70.4, candidates must have one year of permanent competitive service in a position allocated to a SG-11 or higher and possess a bachelor's degree; and have standing on the Professional Career Opportunities (PCO) or PATT eligible list. The traineeship would include SG-13 Trainee 1, SG-14 Trainee 2 and after successful completion of the two year traineeship advance to the SG-18 journey level.

Duties Description • Assist with development and delivery of software training programs
• Develop new curriculum for online training programs using Lectora Software
• Redesign current online training for HR and various divisions using Lectora Software
• Upload online training courses in SLMS
• Assist with the management of the Statewide Learning Management System (SLMS) and preparing training reports that are provided to various training liaisons
• Assist employees with using SLMS
• Assist with Bring Your Child to Work Day activities within OSC

• Demonstrated ability to prepare, understand and interpret written materials, and design and present curricular to internal and external customers.
• Excellent oral, written and interpersonal communication skills, including demonstrated ability to communicate clearly and effectively to all levels of staff both over the telephone and in-person.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently, as well as effectively, in a team environment.
• Experience working successfully in a deadline driven environment where accuracy and attention to detail is required.
• Experience providing operational assistance and support, over the phone and in person, regarding program specific process and procedures in a "How to" manner.
• Experience working with Word and Excel.
