Minimum Qualifications One year of permanent competitive service as an Office Assistant 2 (Keyboarding) or one year of permanent competitive service in an office assistant, clerical or keyboarding title allocated to Grade 7 or higher eligible for transfer under Section 70.1 of the Civil Service Law or be currently reachable for appointment from the Office Assistant 2 (Keyboarding) eligible list. Transfer candidates will be required to demonstrate keyboarding proficiency by passing the keyboarding performance test.

Duties Description The Office Assistant 2 will work for the Division of Administrative Rules. The duties for this position are as follows; Accurately enter material submitted by Agencies for the State Register, New York's rule making notification publication (printed every Wednesday by Legislative Mandate); Accurately enter newly amended and adopted rule text into the Official Compilation of Codes, Rules and Regulations of the State of New York, (NYCRR) database for semi-monthly publication of supplements; Follow rule making agency’s instructions to create manuscript preparation; Proofread in pairs to check for accuracy and Register and NYCRR style. Proof for typographical errors using standard proof notations; Log in Register and NYCRR filings submitted by agencies. Accurately capture pertinent information and enter in the Tracking Recordkeeping Database and the unit’s logbook.
