Minimum Qualifications Permanent transfer candidates: Current Department of Health (DOH) employee with permanent or contingent-permanent status as a Health Program Administrator (G18); OR current NYS employee with one year or more of permanent or contingent-permanent, competitive service in a title eligible to transfer under Section 52.6, Section 70.1, or Section 70.4 of the Civil Service Law to a Health Program Administrator (G18), Health Program Administrator Trainee 1 (NS), or Health Program Administrator Trainee 2 (NS). The preferred candidates will have experience with contract management; working with youth-serving organizations or other community-based organizations, excellent communication and writing skills; proficiency with MS Office, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
Duties Description The HPA positions will support the Bureau of Women, Infant and Adolescent Health’s adolescent health programs. The HPA will be responsible for programmatic oversight to the Personal Responsibility Education (PREP) and/or the Sexual Risk Avoidance Education (SRAE) provider contracts, responsibilities include: Review of required administrative forms, annual budgets and budget modification requests; Review of biannual reports and data submissions; Ensure the provision of technical assistance to adolescent health contractors regarding contract deliverables to ensure compliance with program requirements; Identify contractor training needs; Ensure compliance to federal guidelines and requests; Prepare programmatic communications for dissemination to adolescent health contractors; Assist in the development and implementation of program policies and procedures, participate in review of Request for Applications (RFAs); and other duties as assigned.
Additional Comments Permanent, Full-time. Occasional day travel, including travel to areas that may not be served by public transportation is required.
