Minimum Qualifications Two years of full-time experience in maintenance or mechanical work under the supervision of a skilled tradesperson; OR completion of an appropriate two-year technical school course at a school, institute, or branch of the Armed Services, such as the New York State Civil Service Employees Association-Partnership (NYS CSEA-P). Applied Skilled Trades Certificate Program. Applicant must possess a valid NYS driver’s license and must be physically able to perform the duties assigned.

Duties Description Incumbent duties may include but are not limited to the following: assist in the maintenance of grounds, parking lot, arboretum and building infrastructure; operates and maintains motorized equipment and machinery; maintenance and cleaning of building; assist in assembling items based on blueprints or schematics; may make trips to other offices within the State; moves heavy supplies, furniture, and equipment. The position requires working outdoors in inclement weather and the use of hand tools and operation of motor-driven equipment. Perform a variety of skilled and semiskilled maintenance, repair, installation and construction tasks in the mechanical, building, motor equipment and electrical trades. Incumbents are expected to work independently with guidance from the Trades Generalist, Supervisor.

Additional Comments Hours of work will be between 6:30am and 4:30pm, discussed during interview process.
