Minimum Qualifications According to Civil Service Standards: four years of full-time experience in locksmithing under a skilled tradesperson which would provide training equivalent to that given in a training, apprenticeship, or equivalent program; or an equivalent combination of experience and training gained by completion of technical courses in locksmithing at a school, institute, or branch of the Armed Services. Must be physically able to perform medium to heavy physical labor. Must have, keep and maintain the appropriate valid NYS driver’s license, have a clean record which is free from major violations and a pattern of repeat violations
Duties Description Duties: According to Civil Service Standards but particularly, Install/replace/repair doors. Install/replace/repair locks, cylinders, swipe/proximity card reader locks. Remove broken keys. Replace lost keys. Manufacture keys/duplicate keys,
Change lock combinations. Maintain key security program.
Using hardware/software program swipe/proximity card reader locks. Troubleshoot programming problems. Determines materials needed for projects and estimates cost.
Additional Comments The successful candidate must be authorized to work in the United States.
In addition to the annual salary, this position is eligible for $3,026.00 downstate location pay.
Different shifts may be required from time to time to meet the needs of the College.
